Ahhh, a weekend in repose continues….
I headed out on a grand adventure. I made my way to the school and struck off in a random direction. Today it was to the left at the fork. I rode and enjoyed the changing world around me, greens, reds, blacks, pink and purples…the colors of spring and new life. I rode around twenty…

Ahhhh…A weekend in repose
Whew! What a rush! I’ve got a lot to share from the last four days. My chemical burns are healing nicely and should be gone mid next week. I’m feeling good but still dropping weight. Tomorrow, the twenty fourth, is Zambian independence day, so Tuesday I’ll head to the clinic and take a peek at…

October 14. Day three.
Well, to expand on my last post – number nine wire and the ever important empty ‘mealie meal’ sacks. Just about any problem in your village life can be solved with these two items. No sponge? Use a chunk of sack. Need something off the ground? Held together? Reinforced? Number nine wire. Hut too dark?…

I’ll try and catch up, get some photo’s in, and write some handy updates about swearing in and my official…

It just doesn’t settle in, no running water, no electricity, dirt floors and walls, a pit latrine, cooking over open fire…. And texting. September 29th Catching Up
Whew. What a whirl wind of a few days. Monday and Tuesday were spent teaching and making preparations. Tuesday we taught an hour session at Chongwe high school on hiv/aids, prevention, and transmission. It was a hit with the class participating well. They were active and asked interesting questions. We threw in some fun energizers…

September 26 – Surprises
So, I’ll gloss over my birthday, since I spent the day curled in a ball in my hut recovering from a ‘food allergy’. Apparently people actually poision people they don’t like here, so any type of stomach upset due to bad food is referred to as gastro-intestinal upset or food allergy. Anyway, antibiotics, vomit inhibitors,…
